The synthesis of well-defined multigraft copolymers having a polydiene backbone with polystyrene side chains is briefly reviewed, with particular focus on controlling branch point spacing and branch point functionality. Use of living anionic polymerization and chlorosilane linking chemistry has led to the synthesis of series of materials having regularly spaced trifunctional (comb), tetrafunctional (centipede), and hexafunctional (barbwire) branch points. The morphologies of these materials were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and small-angle X-ray scattering, and it was found that the morphologies were controlled by the local architectural asymmetry associated with each branch point. Mechanical properties studies revealed that such multigraft copolymers represent a new class of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) with superior elongation at break and low residual strains as compared to conventional TPEs. 相似文献

Consumer spray products are already on the market in the cosmetics and household sector, which suggest by their label that
they contain engineered nanoparticles (ENP). Sprays are considered critical for human health, because the lungs represent
a major route for the uptake of ENP into the human body. To contribute to the exposure assessment of ENP in consumer spray
products, we analyzed ENP in four commercially available sprays: one antiperspirant, two shoe impregnation sprays, and one
plant-strengthening agent. The spray dispersions were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) and
(scanning-) transmission electron microscopy ((S)TEM). Aerosols were generated by using the original vessels, and analyzed
by scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS) and (S)TEM. On the basis of SMPS results, the nanosized aerosol depositing in the
respiratory tract was modeled for female and male consumers. The derived exposure levels reflect a single spray application.
We identified ENP in the dispersions of two products (shoe impregnation and plant spray). Nanosized aerosols were observed
in three products that contained propellant gas. The aerosol number concentration increased linearly with the sprayed amount,
with the highest concentration resulting from the antiperspirant. Modeled aerosol exposure levels were in the range of 1010 nanosized aerosol components per person and application event for the antiperspirant and the impregnation sprays, with the
largest fraction of nanosized aerosol depositing in the alveolar region. Negligible exposure from the application of the plant

High-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) were used to study the interaction of O2 with reduced TiO2(110)–(1 × 1) crystals. STM is the technique of choice to unravel the relation between vacancy and non-vacancy assisted O2 dissociation channels as a function of temperature. It is revealed that the vacancy-assisted, first O2 dissociation channel is preferred at low temperature (~ 120 K), whereas the non-vacancy assisted, second O2 dissociation channel operates at temperatures higher than 150 K–180 K. Based on the STM results on the two dissociative O2 interaction channels and the TPD data, a new comprehensive model of the O2 chemisorption on reduced TiO2(110) is proposed. The model explains the relations between the two dissociative and the molecular O2 interaction channels. The experimental data are interpreted by considering the available charge in the near-surface region of reduced TiO2(110) crystals, the kinetics of the two O2 dissociation channels as well as the kinetics of the diffusion and reaction of Ti interstitials. 相似文献

A selective and sensitive method for the simultaneous determination of 14 organophosphate and six phthalate esters using gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (MS) is presented. Both of these compound classes are frequently found in the indoor environment due to their use as bulk additives in numerous polymers, consumer products and building materials. GC/MS utilizing positive ion chemical ionisation (PICI) in selected reaction monitoring (SRM) mode with isobutane as the reagent gas was found to be the best of the tested methods; it proved superior to electron ionisation (EI) in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode and to PICI using methane as the reagent gas. The method was applied to indoor air samples collected by active air sampling using solid‐phase extraction (SPE) cartridges. Organophosphates and phthalates were simultaneously determined with method detection limits (MDLs) in the range of 0.1–47 ng m?3. For most compounds the MDLs were ≤0.2 ng m?3, but due to the presence of some of these ubiquitous indoor air pollutants in the blanks, significantly higher MDLs were observed for a few compounds.
